A message from Karen Russon, President of ECDG
On 29 March, I sent a message to the Director-General and Senior Vice-President of The World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group inviting her to work with me to clear up the confusion over their use of the name Evaluation Capacity Development Group.
I received no response and so on 8 April, I posted a blog to make our friends and sponsors aware of the situation.
I am writing to tell you that today, 11 April, I retrieved from my spam folder a message dated 9 April and, attached to it, a message dated 30 March, in which the Director-General of IEG actually DID respond to my invitation.
She assured me that the knowledge program that used our name has been transformed to become IEG Communication and Strategy and thus the problem has been rendered moot.
Many thanks to the Director-General for her responsiveness. I am sorry for the miscommunication. I promise to check my spam folder more often for future World Bank correspondence. :-))
